Couac uses a minimal number of cookies, strictly necessary to operate the service. No third-party advertising or analytics cookie is placed on shared boards or the marketing site.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential to the service. They cannot be disabled without degrading the experience.

• Authentication session: HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite=Lax cookie, 30-day lifetime, set after sign-in via magic link or password. Keeps you logged in.
• Language preference: NEXT_LOCALE cookie, 1-year lifetime, stores your choice between French and English.
• Shared board access: short-lived session cookie (24h), set when opening a share link. Keeps board access without re-pasting the link every time.
• CSRF protection: technical anti-CSRF cookie, session lifetime.

What Couac does NOT do

• No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom or other third-party analytics cookie on public pages.
• No advertising cookie, no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no retargeting.
• No third-party cookie on shared boards shown to your clients.
• No fingerprinting, no server-side browsing history storage.

Limited third-party

The capture widget (script injected on your site) uses no cookie; it only transmits information voluntarily captured by the user (annotation, console, network), without ambient tracking.

How to control cookies

You can delete Couac cookies from your browser settings at any time. This will sign you out and clear your language preference. For shared boards, deleting the cookie forces you to re-click the original magic link.
